NOVEL SYNTHESES OF SOME BINARY FLUORIDES: THE ROLE OF ANHYDROUS HYDROGEN FLUORIDE

Abstract

The novel syntheses of MnF3, CoF3, BiF3, Pd2F6, PdF4, LaF3 and SmF3, using the approach in liquid anhydrous hydrogen fluoride as a solvent at room temperature are described. Some advantages, like mild reaction conditions and purity of the reaction products, are discussed in comparison to the methods described so far for the syntheses of these binary fluorides.
