SORPTION OF POLYCHLOROBIPHENYLS BY THE FUNGUS Phanerochaete chrysosporium

ABSTRACT

IThe pellets of the fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium remove the majority of polychlorobiphenyls from contaminated tap water, especially those that are less ortho substituted and contain three or more chlorine atoms. A fluid bed process seems to be promising in this respect.
