CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF (η5-C5Me5)TiCl3 AND (η5-C5Me4H)TiCl3

Abstract

Two organotitanium(IV) chloride complexes (η5-C5Me5)TiCl3 (1) and (η5-C5Me4H)TiCl3 (2) have been structurally characterized. These compounds are a key entry for pentamethyl- and tetramethylcyclopentadienyl titanium chemistry. Both complexes adopt the familiar piano-stool geometry.
