CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF (η⁵-C₅Me₅)TiCl₃ AND (η⁵-C₅Me₄H)TiCl₃

Abstract

Two organotitanium(IV) chloride complexes (η⁵-C₅Me₅)TiCl₃ (1) and (η⁵-C₅Me₄H)TiCl₃ (2) have been structurally characterized. These compounds are a key entry for pentamethyl- and tetramethylcyclopentadienyl titanium chemistry. Both complexes adopt the familiar piano-stool geometry.
