Abstract

The Schiff bases obtained from formylmenthone and some aromatic amines behave as bidentate ligands with O and N donor atoms in Cu(II) complexes of the type CuL2(CH3OH)2, CuL2, (CuLCH3COO)2 or as monodentate ligand, CuL4(CH3COO)2. The donor atoms and the possible geometry of the complexes were assigned by means of chemical analyses, electronic, EPR and IR spectra and conductivity measurements.
