ABSTRACT

1,3-Dichlorobenzo[f]quinoline 2 was obtained from 1-hydroxybenzo[f]quinolin-3-one 1. Nucleophilic substitution, hydrolysis, hydrazinolysis and azidation reactions of compound 2 have been studied and found to be regioselective. Also, 1-Aminobenzo[f]quinolinone 11 was obtained and transformed into benzoquinolinylthiourea derivative 12, naphtho-naphthyridinedione 13, benzoquinolinylhydrazone 15 and benzo[f]quinolinylenamine 17.
