Absrtract
A facile synthesis of ethyl (3-oxo-5b-cholan)-24-yl oxalate (8) has been achieved from lithocholic acid (1) in 5 steps with a 64% yield. Comprehensive NMR spectroscopic data interpretations for all new compounds are presented.
